Wackiti Creek, Mildura, Ceduna, Kalgoorlie
| Hi All |
First blog for the year and we have been on the road just on 3 weeks and we a re going West this time, this trip is our 4rth year and we will see where it leads us this time, we are presently in Ceduna about to head west across the Nullarbor, I am getting ahead of myself so better start at the beginning.
| Europe vs Australia |
We spent the month of January and February parked at Tracey's our daughter and nice it was seeing the Grand children Joshua and Montanna and Donna's Jasmyn and Tatum.
So in March we took of for our last Rally for awhile which happened to be at Wackity Creek a bush camp and like the last time when we were there, we had a good time, it was here we met up with Tom and Ann whom we are traveling with at the moment.
| Tom & Ann on the right, us on the left free Camping |
After leaving Wackity. we headed for Mildura for a short stop over had the Solar panels checked OK, CB went on the blink and had this fixed, the problem the soft ware snuffed itself, shopping and off to the west we headed.
| Mildura for our first rest |
SA border no veggies, potatoes and fruit so a cook up and we ate stew for a few days to get rid of it, Berry SA we stocked up again with fruit and veg's, our aim this time for
| A great night Sky |
| Parham free camp great weather |
Port Parham free camp to see if we could catch our self's some Blue Swimmer crabs, very optimistic as we where looking for hundreds but our luck had deserted us and we lost 2 and settled for 3 nice size swimmers.
We struggled through mud and seaweed but must say it was fun and the 3 swimmers tasted great. so good we even forgot to take photo's we stayed for three days
| The beautiful Dessert Pea |
| Signs around Australia |
Than Port Julia on the York peninsular, no Swimmers here traveled from here to a over night stay at Maitland Show ground,
| Where is dinner |
then Port Augusta here we met Marilyn and Ian who are traveling to Kunanarra,
| A bit of fun Me Tom and Ian |
onto Yanninee where the loo was called the concrete Crapper see photo
and so here we are in Ceduna have been here for 3 days and have visited the weather station saw the balloon go up,

Well I'll finish for the moment until next time.
Well guess what we are now in Kalgoorlie and I still haven't posted the post as yet, so I am going to finish it here for all to read.
So to say we have had fun playing the longest golf course in the world is a understatement we did.
| The Wind mill link of the course. |
| Typical tee Astro turf |
| What a staunch |
We played under some rare conditions to say the least, to start with it was advised to make up tees out of bottle screw tops approx an inch high as it was almost impossible to stick a tee in the ground, buy plenty of golf balls as you would lose a few and plenty of sunscreen and fly repellant.
| Finally a hole again on Astroturf |
| Bianka on the green |
So we hit off at Ceduna, Each link an Astro Turf Tee was available and the Green was also Astro Turf, but for the next 1400Km we hit balls on some of the worst terrain imaginable, stone rock, high and low grass, foot high bushes, sand and more, all of the things one would not see on a golf course Oh yeah I forgot to mention the the
Great Big Thieving BLACK CROWS, we lost a few balls that way.
At Nullarbor Roadhouse Tom and I had a beautiful Tee off and swoop the ball went up high flying into the distance, so from then on we took turns in crow scaring by walking some distance ahead to scare the crows.
| Note the bareness behind |
We side tracked here to visit the Nularbor Caves by driving 15km into the outback with not a tree insight see the photos.
| Vans parked over the caves in the Nullabar |
| The vastness of the Nullarbor note the Caravans |
| Long walk back to the vans |
To continue:We had fun like using our Cars with Van attached for a Golf buggy and drove from Tee to the next hit of the ball and to the green.
| Tee off with the van in the back ground |
| Using the van as a Golf Buggy to drive around while playing |
| Bianka hit on the fairway |
Halfway 700km to go and approx 7 more links.
| Look at the distances at half way across the Nullarbor |
| Crossing the border |
Mind each time we teed off we had to walk back to the beginning of the link after Putting the Ball.
At Kambalda we played the 3rd last hole and ended up staying for the night at the suggestion of the Golf club manager,
| Kambalda after a hard hole |
Ceduna, Kambalda and Kalgoorlie where the Links were part of the golf club Kalgoorlie links being the nicest.
| Oh Oh those bunkers |
| Darn in the bunker |
| Final Hole see the nice grass ahead |
So as I said before fun it was and anyone traveling West or coming from the west should do it, it is an experience.
Oh I almost forgot we where presented with a great certificate to mark us having played
The Great Nullarbor Golf Course.
| Great Australian bight |
Till next time
Sig & Bianka
